Moscow Institute of Architecture

This program of academic cooperative exchange was established in 1991. Since then, the two schools have had a very successful and fruitful cooperation in exchanging faculty members for part of a semester. Illinois professors Johannes Albrecht (Design) and Robert Osterhout (History) offered seminars and lectured at the Moscow Institute of Architecture in 1995 and 1997 respectively. Moscow’s Professors Alexander Kudriastev, Mitya Shvidkovsky and Peter Panuchin visited and taught at Illinois.

In 1997 the two institutions agreed to pursue the exchange and develop further interactions in the areas of architectural design, construction technology, architectural practice, history of architecture and computer applications.
