Research

My research focuses on the theoretical foundations of architectural design, and the ways in which technology can facilitate built form. Specifically, I am interested in human interaction with actual urban and lakeshore environments, as well as the immersive virtual environments that have the capacity to simulate them. This involves the physical features of buildings and the environment, and the highly complex, sensory systems that humans rely on to comprehend them. The intent is to better design buildings so that our sensory capabilities are activated, to the end of helping people maintain their physical and mental health.
