The Illinois School of Architecture lost more than a loyal alumnus and admired emeritus faculty member with the passing of A. Richard (Dick) Williams on May 27, several months short of his 102nd birthday. We lost a singularly gifted friend who contributed immeasurably to the school’s growth and success across the span of eight decades. What we haven’t lost—and can never afford to lose—are fine memories of Dick’s contributions to the school, and to the advancement of the art of architecture. Join us in Chicago on Friday, November 4, 5-7 p.m. to celebrate Dick’s amazing life. The celebration will be held in the school’s Chicago Studio, in the historic Santa Fe Building at 224 South Michigan Avenue. Please meet in the elevator lobby to be escorted to the studio located in the offices of VOA, Now Stantec.
