Lecture Title: "Concrete" Form and Textures"

Stephen V. DeSimone currently holds the position of President/Chief Executive of DeSimone Consulting Engineers. Founded in New York City in 1969, the firm has offices worldwide, Located in New York, New Haven, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Medellín, the firm is organized to support clients around the globe. Mr. Stephen V. DeSimone, PE has designed projects throughout the United States and 18 countries.

Mr. DeSimone has specialized in computer modeling of complex formed structures. In this pursuit, Mr. DeSimone has developed several techniques that enable complex surface information to be migrated from one computer application to another. Other areas of expertise include wind engineering, the use of composite systems and the design of high-rise concrete structures. More recently he has been responsible for the design of several “supertall” sliver buildings that are transforming the NTC skyline. Mr. DeSimone has an extensive list of award winning projects including Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel, HL23, IAC Headquarters, The Standard Hotel, and the Four Seasons Hotel Tower San Francisco have all received honors.

Mr. DeSimone received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Manhattan College and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University. He is a licensed professional in twelve states and is a LEED accredited professional.

Mr. DeSimone is a member of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He was an instructor at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and is on the executive committee of the Lehigh M. Engineering Program. Currently he is an active member of the New York Concrete Industry Board and the American Concrete Institute. He is a founding member and board member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY).
