David M. Chasco, FAIA, Professor and Director of the Illinois School of Architecture was honored by being named a Fellow at The American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention in Denver in June 2013. The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level. David Chasco has dedicated his career to promoting a unified profession by fostering design excellence in the academic and public realms, after achieving creative design excellence in the profession.
