James J. Pawlikowski is an Associate Director in the Structural and Civil Engineering group at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, LLP.  In his career at SOM, James has worked on many significant projects throughout the world.  He has had lead roles in such projects as the Burj Dubai, the Lotte Super Tower in Seoul, the Plot 16 development in Moscow, and the new NATO headquarters in Brussels.  He has also been significantly involved in other notable projects such as Tower Palace III in Seoul, and the General Motors Renaissance Center redevelopment in Detroit.

James holds a masters degree in architecture (structures option) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He is a licensed structural engineer as well as a LEED Accredited Professional.  James is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI), and the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).  He is also a member of the ASCE Sustainability Committee, and is Secretary of the Structural Engineers Foundation.  James was the recipient of the 2008 SEAOI Outstanding Young Structural Engineer Award.
