William (Bill) A. Browne, Jr., AIA is the president and founding principal of RATIO Architects, Inc. An industry leader, Bill is known for his ability to produce unique and innovative solutions from challenging and complex projects.
Bill pursues contextual design in urban and campus environments, integrates narrative stories and art with architecture, and advances a collegial dialogue, collectively encouraging the profession’s collaborative nature while increasing architectural aesthetics. Inspiring the next generation of designers, Bill lectures at numerous universities, sits on design juries and leads design studios. Examples of his museum, university, laboratory and assembly facilities are found across the country.
To extend the appreciation for architecture’s importance in the community, Bill works with organizations outside of the profession. Now serving his 16th year as one of two mayoral appointed architectural members, Bill oversees design in historic districts administered by the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission. As an advisory board member to the Indiana Limestone Company, Bill is providing architectural insight as it expands its national presence in the natural stone market.
Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from University of Illinois Urbana, Champaign, IL, and his Master of Arts in Architecture at the University of Florida Gainesville, FL. He is NCARB Certified (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) and a registered architect in the states of Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, Colorado, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina and Texas.

Jonathan is recognized for his design work on museum projects such as the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Indianapolis Museum of Art and additions to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Motor Speedwey.
Jonathan also has extensive design experience with academic, religious, sport and corporate architecture. Some of these projects include lUPUI's Herron School of Art, Butler University's Lilly Hall, St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Indianapolis Motor Speedwey Control Tower, additions to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis and Eli Lilly and Company's Global Headquarters.
Jonathan practiced in several offices in Illinois and Indiana before joining Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects as a Project Architect in 1984. He became a principal of the firm in 1988.
Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Illinois earning a Master of Architecture in 1982 and Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies in 1979.
