Mr. Kissinger has over 25 years experience as an engineer and manager in the building design industry. He has been integrally involved in design and construction of some of the most distinctive structures in Wisconsin and the Midwest, including the Midwest Airlines Center, The Milwaukee Art Museum Addition, Lambeau Field Redevelopment, McCormick Place West Hall, and the US Navy recapitalization of Great Lakes Naval Base.
Mr. Kissinger’s duties now include oversight of two GAS offices in Chicago, and offices in Fort Myers, Florida, Phoenix, Arizona and Davenport, Iowa. He is the head of planning and business development for GAS, as well as a member of the Board of Directors
For his work as structural, civil and environmental engineering manager for the Milwaukee Art Museum addition, Mr. Kissinger was honored as one of the “Top 25 Newsmakers for 2001” by Engineering News-Record Magazine.
Highlights of Mr. Kissinger’s Design/Management Career Include:
- Milwaukee Art Museum Addition, Milwaukee, WI – Engineering manager for structural, civil, and environmental engineering for multi-award winning addition. Project included large-scale unique structural systems, a single-mast cable-stayed pedestrian bridge, and a moveable sun-screen roof with a 220 foot “wingspan”. The unique engineering of this world-famous facility received top awards from the American Society of Civil Engineers, The National Council of Engineering Companies, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineers, along with multiple state and regional awards.
- Great Lakes Naval Base, Great Lakes, IL – GAS project executive for over $400 million in site redevelopment including:
- Camp John Paul Jones - This 50-acre green-field site was developed to handle seven new recruit barracks and a drill hall. This $200 million project included extensive grading, utility work, stormwater detention, a new railroad bridge and underpass, paving, and a water tower.
- New Processing Day Barracks at Camp Moffett – This $35 million barracks houses brand new recruits during their first few days in the Navy. The project included civil/site engineering, site utility planning and design, and design of new recruit drop-off and the “Avenue of the Flags”.
- Camp Porter Infrastructure Redevelopment – GAS role on this project includes site civil and structural engineering for a complex redevelopment of this important recruit camp. The project includes extensive replacement of roads, utilities, including steam and electrical utilities, and the demolition over 12 existing structures. The $186 million project also includes the construction 7 significant new structures.
- Midwest Airlines Center, Milwaukee, WI – Structural engineering manager for $170 million, 700,000-square-foot convention center. This massive design-build project produced a construction document set with over 950 drawings.
- McCormick Place West Expansion – Associate Structural Design Leader for consortium of 3 structural engineering firms, led by A. Epstein and Sons, who teamed to design new $850 Million, 2.7 million square foot addition to one of the nation’s largest convention centers.
- Northwestern Mutual – Franklin Campus, Franklin, WI – GAS project executive for the 585,000-square-foot, five-story office building and a four-story parking garage. This is the first development in a long-term campus master plan for NML in Franklin.
- Lambeau Field Redevelopment, Green Bay, WI – Project executive for GAS’ portion of the $295 million redevelopment. Work included extensive site/civil engineering and structural engineering of foundation, first supported level, and support structures. The project also included structural evaluation of selected portions of the existing stadium.
- General Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee County, WI – Principal structural engineer for a 2,250-car, $15 million, post-tensioned parking structure.
- O'Donnell Park, Milwaukee, WI – Project manager for the rehabilitation of a distressed parking structure, as well as development of a new lakefront park and pavilion on top of it. Innovative reinforcement and repair solutions allowed O’Donnell Park and Miller Brewing Pavilion to be constructed after significant structural flaws were discovered in the newly constructed parking structure.
Civic/Community Involvement
- Mr. Kissinger is a long-time member of the board of directors of Tosa Baseball League, Inc., where he currently chairs the Wisconsin Avenue Park Development Committee. In this current role, he has overseen unique public/private partnership between Milwaukee County and TBL that has already funded and completed two significant restoration and improvement projects at Wisconsin Avenue Park.
- Mr. Kissinger has been a member of the Wauwatosa Design Review Board C since 2002. This board reviews and approves the exterior design of all commercial developments within the city of Wauwatosa
