Jie Hu,
Director and Chief Designer of Department of Landscape Architecture in
Beijing Tsinghua Urban Planning & Design Institute, Associate Professor
at School of Architecture in Tsinghua University, Registered Landscape
Architect, Member of American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA),
and Director of Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture.
He was graduated
from Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering ( P. R. China )
with Bachelor degree of Architecture in 1983, and Beijing Forestry
University ( P. R. China ) with Master degree of Landscape Architecture
in 1986, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA with Master
degree of Landscape Architecture in 1995 majoring Land Resource
Planning. He had been working in Sasaki Inc. in USA for about 8 years
after his graduation from Illinois, participating large-scale urban
planning projects.
In
Based on his
professional contribution to the landscape architecture industry, he was
awarded as Beijing 2007 Foreign experts "Great Wall Friendship Award",
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Torchbearer, Beijing Olympic Planning Project
Exploring & Design and Mapping Industry Advanced Individual, Hi-tech
Olympics Sophisticated Individual, and Chinese Science (2008) Man of the
year.
He is also
teaching in Tsinghua University and responsible for 2 subjects including
Landscape Technology and Landscape Design Studio. He has supervised 9
postgraduate students. Meanwhile, more than 20 of his papers have been
published in domestic and overseas academic journals.
