On the following day, she will be leading a Smart Cities Symposium to be held at the San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association [SPUR] open to design professionals as well as the public.

Co-curated by Associate Professor Kevin Erickson, 5x5 Participatory Provocations opened July 11 at the Center for Architecture in New York City and will be on view until October 31, 2017. The exhibit has traveled to five venues in eighteen months - UIUC, Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, RISD, OMI International Arts Center, and will be up for Archtober - New York City’s Architecture and Design Month.

ARCHITECT Magazine featured Randy Deutsch’s latest book, Convergence, in an article titled "What Architects Should Know About 'Convergence"
The journal article titled, "Universal Visible Sky Factor: A method for calculating the three-dimensional visible sky ratio" will be published in the October 2017 Volume 123 of Building and Environment. The journal develops a new method for calculating the visible sky ratio. It calculates the actual areas of obstacles in a 3D sky hemisphere. It improves the accuracy of the visible sky ratio without the distortion of obstructions.

Professor Emerita Joy Malnar’s new article “The 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial: The State of Sensory Design” was published in Sensory Arts and Design.
